Investigation of Honeycomb Sandwich Panel Structure using Aluminum Alloy (AL6XN) Material under Blast Loading

In this study, we focused on the large inelastic behavior of a sandwich panel made two solid plates as stiffener and honeycomb core shell subjected to blast load. The loading scheme was carried out using an explosive charge bullet mounted at standoff distance 100 mm with three mass variations trinitrotoluene: 1, 2, 3 kg TNT. numerical simulations performed ABAQUS/CAE were validated experimental results previous study. geometrical effects intact damaged models also numerically investigated. designed square hexagonal core. effect height observed by modeling variations: 31, 51, 71 mm. showed that more resistant loads than design. parameter determines energy absorption based these results. structural strength is affected damage. findings study can be used improve designs utilize panels withstand loads.
